We haven't heard much from "Smile" singer Lily Allen lately -- not since her heartbreaking miscarriage last October. Since then, Allen's been quietly carving out a second career as a vintage clothing retailer, and filming a British TV documentary about the experience. It's cleverly titled Lily Allen: From Riches to Rags.
According to the U.K.'s Daily Mail, in the documentary Allen opens up about the emotional pain that she and her fiancé Sam Cooper suffered after losing their baby six months into pregnancy. "It was a really long battle, and I think that kind of thing changes a person," she said. The 25-year-old singer also reveals a former eating disorder, and details her struggle to reconcile being healthy while also looking good on magazine covers.
That twofold goal is one lots of pop stars face, including Carrie Underwood. The country singer has discussed another healthy body struggle: keeping off the "potato chip" weight for her wedding. The parallel here? Allen's also got a wedding dress to fit into. She was recently photographed discussing plans for her gown with Karl Lagerfeld!
With all the personal hurdles she's endured, we only hope there are good times ahead for Lily Allen.
