WATCH: Britney Spears, Rihanna S&M Billboard Awards Performance Video

Britney Spears and Rihanna?s S&M performance brought some spice to this year?s Billboard Awards. As we reported earlier, Spears is expected to perform more than once this evening as she gears up for her epic summer tour. The hype behind tonight?s show was steadily building all week. Fans wondered if Britney could prove that she has once again returned. She was lucky enough to have been billed alongside a few other superstars, but some feared her lack luster album sales might translate into a poor performance. This time around Rihanna stole the show, opening the number with her hands chained together at the wrist. Brit Brit comes out about half way through, with a weird, 1970?s Playboy hat on. Together, they gyrate against stripper poles for a bit before getting into an even stranger pillow fight with some of the back-up dancers. Up until then, it wasn?t half bad. It was painfully obvious that Brit was employing her usual lip-syncing technique. Especially when the song would cut from her part back to one of Rihanna?s ? the live vocals have much more punch.
